'Spectacular' 23-year-old striker's agent says West Ham have made a formal offer for his client

West Ham United are lining up a move to sign a very talented young striker this summer.

The chief remit at West Ham for Graham Potter this summer should be to bring an elite centre-forward to the London Stadium.

Danny Ings will leave at the end of this season, and Niclas Fullkrug will most likely move on as well.

Meanwhile, Michail Antonio‘s future is uncertain, so the addition of a young striker with real pace top tier movement and elite finishing ability will be an absolute necessity.

All the talk right now is concerning Potter signing a striker, with the likes of Moise Kean being linked with a move to West Ham.

It won’t do the Hammers head coach any hard to cast his net far and wide though.

And it seems as though that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Yuri Alberto’s agent says West Ham have made offer for his client

Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto is firmly on the Hammers radar once again it seems.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

West Ham have been linked with Yuri Alberto for quite some time now, most recently just last month.

And now the Hammers are back in for the 23-year-old forward.

Alberto’s agent Andre Cury has spoken to Ge Globo about his client’s future:

“Our job is to take the proposal to the club,” he said.

“We have already had offers from Wolverhampton, West Ham, from Betis, from Spain, from Italy.

“But the player is young, every player who is in South America thinks of playing in Europe and with Yuri is no different. If there is a good opportunity that is good for him and for the club, we will talk.”

David Sullivan calling the shots at West Ham

It’s common knowledge that David Sullivan has taken a more hands-on approach to transfers once again, after some of the disastrous signings over the past year or so.

And a potential deal for Alberto has his fingerprints all over it. The mere fact that Yuri Alberto been a target for West Ham since 2022 tells me that Sullivan is leading the charge for his signature.

That said, he isn’t a bad striker at all, and I think West Ham could do a lot worse than Yuri Alberto.

His former Internacional coach David Aguirre absolutely raved about the striker, labelling him as ‘spectacular’ (Torcedores).

My only concern about the 23-year-old is that he has no experience of playing Premieer League football.

He did play in Russia with Zenit Saint Petersburg but only made 15 appearances, although he did bag six goals and four assists.

If Potter brings the Brazilian to the London Stadium for a reasonable fee this summer, I think he could end up being a strong addition for us.
