Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed a fruitful six-year spell with Liverpool, following his 2017 transfer from Arsenal.
Although Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Liverpool career disappointed at times, the former England international still managed to rack up 146 appearances for the Reds, picking up Premier League and Champions League winners medals along the way.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury issues always prevented him from kicking on at Anfield – he did however play a key part in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
During his career at Melwood, the midfielder became a big part of the Reds dressing room, forming strong bonds with the likes of Andy Robertson.
Despite his relationship with the Scotsman, Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t hold back when talking about Robertson’s talents, particularly on the training pitch.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain claimed Andy Robertson was ‘the worst’ he had seen in training
Whilst Oxlade-Chamberlain struggled to nail down a starting slot under Klopp, Roberston soon became an ever-present for Liverpool following his 2017 move from Hull City.
The Scottish international would transform into one of Europe’s best left-backs at Anfield, despite his difficulties in Liverpool training.
That is according to former teammate Oxlade-Chamberlain, who claimed Robertson was ‘so bad’ in training despite being one of Liverpool’s best players on a matchday.

When questioned who was Liverpool’s ‘fashion fail’, Oxlade-Chamberlain told Soccer Am in 2021:
“I always feel horrible when I put someone in this bracket. I’m close enough with Robbo so I can hammer him and he won’t take too much offence, you know. One thing I will give him, just like his football, he’s improved drastically since the first day I saw him.
“I had Robbo as one thing and now I see him as top, now one of or the best left-back in the world. I say to everyone all the time, how can someone that is so bad in a box or a rondo, like the worst I’ve ever seen, be so good in a match?
“You watch him in a rondo, it looks like he’s never played football before, all over, bouncing off him. But when he gets in a match he is so reliable, it’s a skill.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s career post-Liverpool exit
Having only managed five starts during the 22/23 season, Oxlade-Chamberlain eventually left Liverpool in the summer of 2023 in a move to Besiktas.
The former Arsenal midfielder’s Turkey career has been mixed so far, initially struggling in Istanbul.
He has however started to enjoy success under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the ex-Man United boss took over in January.
