Joao Pedro sends emphatic two-word message to Newcastle star

Newcastle United star Joelinton has enjoyed a remarkable few days.

Indeed, Joelinton was excellent as Newcastle United won the Carabao Cup at Wembley, putting in a fantastic display against Liverpool.

Newcastle were good value for their 2-1 victory over Liverpool, proving they could handle the big occasions. They are now over their hoodoo against the Merseyside giants and the Brazilian played an absolutely huge role in that.

It will have been a fine few days for the 28-year-old. Joelinton is in the Brazil squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina, meaning he could earn a fifth cap for his country and a first since 2023.

While certainly a hero at Newcastle, Joelinton is perhaps yet to make his impact for the Selecao. Brazil have endured a difficult period over recent years and have still (somehow) overlooked him.

Still, now he’s back in the squad, former Newcastle transfer target Joao Pedro is pleased.

Joao Pedro’s message to Newcastle United star Joelinton after Brazil return

Joelinton missed Brazil training earlier this week, having arrived in the country later than most of their teammates after winning the Carabao Cup final.

Pedro was previously a Newcastle target and is also in the squad after impressing for high-flying Brighton in the Premier League this season.

After returning to training with the rest of his teammates, Joelinton posted a compilation of himself getting put through the paces on Instagram.

In response, Pedro wrote: “Our monster.”

If Joelinton can take his cup final performance into international action, perhaps he’ll be in line to really cement a place in their set-up on a more consistent basis.

Matheus Cunha and Bruno Guimaraes welcome Joelinton’s Brazil return

Unsurprisingly, Newcastle teammate Bruno Guimaraes was also pleased to see Joelinton back in Brazil training. He wrote: “My brother.”

Wolves star Matheus Cunha has been linked with Newcastle and was another to have reacted to Joelinton’s post, adding a series of emojis including a love heart.

Joelinton’s record for Brazil national team

The Newcastle star hasn’t had it easy on in the international front. While one goal in five games is a decent return from a midfielder, the fact Joelinton was sent-off against Argentina cannot have helped his chances.

Still, an absolute monster at club level, the next step is taking that to the international stage.
