Vikings Make Clear Aaron Rodgers Decision

The Minnesota Vikings have been involved in the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes for quite some time, but it seems they have recently removed their name from his list of potential landing spots.

Minnesota entered the 2024 season with Sam Darnold and JJ McCarthy in their quarterback room.

Darnold wound up bursting onto the scene as a quality NFL starter while McCarthy spent the season on the sideline with a knee injury.

As Darnold took his talents to the Seattle Seahawks, the question lied between rolling the dice on McCarthy or bringing in a veteran signal-caller.

Despite the rumors that the Vikings were the No. 1 landing spot for Rodgers, NFL insider Tom Pelissero has reported that Minnesota is not pursuing the former New York Jets quarterback "at this time."

The #Vikings have rejected multiple trade calls on J.J. McCarthy, telling other teams they're moving forward with him as their quarterback, sources say.

Rodgers recently spent two seasons with the Jets. Last season, the 41-year-old recorded 28 touchdowns and 3,897 yards with a 63.0 completion percentage.

He led the Jets to a 5-12 record, after missing the 2023 season with an Achilles injury.

As Pelissero explained, the Vikings seem to be committed to McCarthy, having rejected multiple trade calls for the former first-round pick.

While Minnesota plans to "move forward" with McCarthy and add a veteran quarterback, Rodgers doesn't seem to fit the mold
