Vitor Pereira missed out on one transfer target in the January window but, could revisit him in the summer.
The January transfer window was a success at Wolves, as three players arrived to replenish Pereira’s squad.
Centre-backs Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Agbadou arrived alongside midfielder Marshall Munetsi however, Pereira wanted another signing as well.
The Wolves manager was also on the lookout for a forward signing, with it later emerging that the Old Gold made an attempt to sign one in-form striker.

Wolves offer for Yuri Alberto confirmed by agent
That player was Yuri Alberto, whom Wolves attempted to sign in the January window.
The Brazilian has been on the Midlands club’s radar for some time, with Alberto linked to Wolves in January 2024.
The Corinthians talisman has been in the news recently, where Wolves were mentioned by his agent.
Alberto’s agent Andre Cury confirmed in an interview with Globo Esporte that his client has received ‘offers’ from an array of clubs, including the Old Gold.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
“We’ve had offers from Wolverhampton, West Ham, Betis, Spain, we’ve had offers from Italy and it never happened.”
While the 24-year-old remained at Corinthians in January, Cury failed to rule out a future transfer for the player.
“The player is young, every player who’s in South America thinks about playing in Europe and it’s no different with Yuri.
“If there’s a good opportunity that’s good for him and the club, we’ll talk about it.”
Wolves are aware of Alberto’s asking price, with Corinthians demanding a fee of £50m for the striker, who is partly owned by former club Zenit.

The goalscorer is one to watch in the summer window, as Pereira has made it clear that he wants to sign a forward to bolster his front line.
Wolves are expected to attack the market for a goalscorer in the summer as Matheus Cunha’s future remains uncertain.

Yuri Alberto’s previous three seasons at Corinthians
What’s interesting is that some believe Alberto is better than Cunha, with an argument over the Wolves ace’s Brazil call-up ahead of the Corinthians star.
Pereira doesn’t need convincing when it comes to understanding Alberto’s quality, given that the striker was a former player of the Wolves boss.
The Portuguese coach oversaw the Brazilian at Corinthians, where Pereira described Alberto as an ‘animal’.
Now that Wolves’ attempt to sign the player has been confirmed, his next steps will be something to keep a close eye on in the summer window.
