The 22-year-old has grown leaps and bounds at Genoa since moving from Juventus in 2023—initially on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2024. He has played 49 times in all competitions for the Italian side thus far, netting three goals.
Koni De Winter has missed a lot of action this season due to an unfortunate hamstring injury, limiting him to only 16 Serie A starts. Yet, the Belgian has managed to do enough in those outings to grab the attention of several European bigwigs.
Now, according to an exclusive report from CaughtOffside, Manchester United have started keeping tabs on De Winter ahead of a possible summer swoop. A new defender is one of Ruben Amorim’s priorities in the wake of Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans’ eventual exits on a free transfer at the end of the season.

De Winter, who is valued at €30-35 million, has made an impression with his all-action displays in the Genoa defence. A centre-back by trade, the Antwerp-born talent has performed admirably at right-back when deployed by the Genoa boss. The 22-year-old has reportedly made it clear that he will give priority to the most ambitious project presented to him, one that helps him take the next step in his career.
