Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Florian Wirtz and Andrea Cambiaso in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester City are ready to splash around €200 million to sign Florian Wirtz and Andrea Cambiaso from Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus, respectively, in the summer transfer window.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can improve their squad during the summer transfer window and bring in the right additions. Wirtz would be an exceptional acquisition for them. The German international is highly rated across Europe, and he has established himself as one of the best players in the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old could be the ideal long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne who has been linked with a move away from Manchester City. The Belgian international could be past his peak soon, and Manchester City need to start planning for a future without him. They have identified the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder as De Bruyne’s successor.
Wirtz has already proven himself in German football, and he could be open to trying out a new challenge. Moaving to the Premier League could be quite exciting for him. He will add goals, creativity and technical ability in the final third. He is capable of operating as the central attacking midfielder as well as in the wide areas. His versatility will be an added bonus for Manchester City if they can sign him.
Manchester City eyeing Andrea Cambiaso
Andrea Cambiaso would address another major concern in the Manchester City squad. They are lacking a specialist left-back right now, and Josko Gvardiol has been deployed in that role. The Croat is more suited to the role of a central defender, and signing a specialist full-back should be one of their priorities.
Cambiaso has proven himself in Italy, and he has the ability to succeed in the Premier League as well. The Juventus defender is valued at around €60 million, and Manchester City certainly have the finances to get the deal done. They are closely monitoring his situation, and it will be interesting to see if they submit an official offer to sign him.
Manchester City have endured a disappointing 2024/25 season, and they are set to miss out on the league title. They are looking to bounce back strongly with quality additions. The Premier League champions have brought in a number of talented players in January, and they are now looking to improve the squad further in the summer.
