Manchester United supporters have been having their say after it was confirmed that season ticket prices will increase next year.
United revealed on Monday that season ticket prices will rise by five per cent for the third successive year amid ongoing efforts to balance the books. Senior concessions will now all be offered at 25 per cent off, rather than some getting a 50 per discount as in previous years. It has also been confirmed that a senior ticket will now be moved in line with the state pension age of 66.
Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) criticised the changes on Monday and The 1958 has now followed suit, saying in a statement: “The fact the ticket prices were not frozen and the club did not follow the precedent set by other Premier League clubs is really disappointing. Especially after serving up one of the worst teams in decades.”

And now United supporters, commenting in the comments section of the Manchester Evening News website, have had their say on the changes. Reader Mags28 said "Mine has gone up 58.8%. A fine reward for 59 years of loyalty."
Commenter MalcUnited wrote: "My wife and I are 77-year-old loyal fans and our season ticket has gone up by a massive 70% from £496 to £840. With match day travel costs etc. that makes renewing unaffordable. So this will be our last season!"
DAVES asks: "I'm a senior fan & my ticket has gone up from £24 a ticket to £37.50 per ticket. That's more than a 5% increase? How does that work or am I missing something?"
And M28red said: "Manchester United Supporters Trust and the Fan Advisory Board didn’t agree with any of the club's decisions... but the club pressed ahead and did what they wanted anyway."
