US Supreme Court likely to review Tahawwur Rana's last-ditch effort to avoid extradition to…

The US Supreme Court is likely to consider an application from 26/11 Mumbai terror accused Tahawwur Rana seeking a stay on his extradition to India. The application has been distributed to the Supreme Court judges ahead of a private conference scheduled for April 4, 2025.

A copy of the application has been shared with the judges, allowing them to review the plea and related documents before the conference. Only a few of the distributed cases are typically discussed in detail, while the rest may be dismissed without discussion.

For an application to proceed, at least four judges must agree to grant a review. Decisions on the applications are announced in open court, usually on the court's next working day.

On January 21, the Supreme Court rejected a review petition filed by Rana, who is wanted in India for his alleged role in the Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people.

This is a developing story. It will be updated.
