Saints Wideout Cedrick Wilson Reworks Contract With The Team

The New Orleans Saints and wide receiver Cedrick Wilson have agreed to a reworked contract. This was first reported on Wednesday morning by Katherine Terrell of ESPN.

As reported by Terrell, Wilson's original salary cap hit was $3.4 million for the 2025-26 season. This new agreement reduces Wilson's cap hit to $1.67 million this year with a voided year in 2026.

Wilson, 29, will be entering his second season with the New Orleans Saints. He was originally a sixth-round choice by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Boise State. He played in 38 games over three seasons with Dallas and caught 67 passes for 837 yards and 8 touchdowns.

A free agent in 2022, Wilson was signed to a three-year contract by the Miami Dolphins. He played with Miami for two of those seasons, pulling in 34 receptions for 432 yards and three scores in 30 games.

The Saints signed Wilson to a two-year deal during free agency last offseason. He played 15 games for New Orleans in 2024, starting four contests. The Saints had a desperate need for receiving production after losing Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Bub Means for the year at midseason.

Despite that desperation, Cedrick Wilson had only 20 receptions for 211 yards and one touchdown. He also threw one pass for a 21-yard touchdown to Alvin Kamara against Washington.

Wilson's best game as a Saint was against the Denver Broncos in Week 7 when he caught 6 passes for 57 yards and a score. He had multiple receptions in only four of his other 14 games, with a high of just 28 yards.

Wilson is the son of former San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Sr., who played in the NFL from 2001 to 2007.

In two years at Boise State, Cedrick Wilson Jr. had 139 receptions for 2,640 yards and 18 touchdowns. Wilson's best year in the NFL was 2021 with Dallas, when he had 45 catches for 602 yards and six scores.
