Patrice Evra joins new Netflix reality show, Man Utd legend will battle it out for ultimate£1m goal

Patrice Evra has never shied away from entertainment which is why he has taken an offer to become a reality TV star in a new Netflix show.

Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra became an internet phenomenon after retiring from the sport.

The Frenchman spent eight years at Old Trafford between 2008 and 2016 during which time he won five Premier League titles, the Champions League and several other major trophies.

Evra left United just a season after Sir Alex Ferguson decided to call time on his career and was later overlooked under David Moyes.

These were very different times for Evra and he decided to ditch life in the Premier League to join Juventus.

Now, his post-playing career has taken another unexpected turn.

Patrice Evra joins Netflix show

Since retiring from football, Patrice Evra has taken on new challenges such as football punditry, writing an autobiography and featuring on TV shows, including A League of Their Own.

The 43-year-old has now taken the opportunity to appear on the online streaming platform Netflix after being announced as a participant in The Sideman’s new show ‘Inside’.

More United News

Inside is hosted by UK YouTuber group The Sidemen and it involves 10 stars being locked in a luxurious, isolated house in the UK.

Evra will be among the contestants trying to complete a series of intense and unpredictable challenges. The winner of the Netflix show will pocket the ultimate goal of £1 million.

The former United star was not listed as part of the initial line-up, so his role in the show has come as a surprise. One of the contestants was completely unaware of who Evra was after being greeted in the secret house by the World Cup winner.

What’s next for Evra?

From footballer to YouTuber, Evra will now compete against the likes of PK Humble and JasonTheWeen among a list of other influencers.

There’s a hefty pay package for Evra if he can come out of top.

But it’s a different story to competing with athletes for the biggest prizes in sport.

It shows Evra wants to be versatile and unpredictable in retirement. This sounds familiar to another former Frenchman who is adored by United fans.
