Leeds United could make a summer transfer swoop to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham if they are promoted.

The Whites are leading the race in the Championship with a place in the Premier League looking increasingly likely ahead of next season.

Daniel Farke has led his side to the top of the second tier and will be hopeful of a positive end to the campaign after difficult results against QPR and Portsmouth.

Regardless of this, promotion should be secured in the final eight games of the season which could give the LS11 club a perfect chance to sign Kudus from the Hammers.

Kudus could move from West Ham to Leeds United

It has been a difficult campaign for the Ghana international who has struggled for regular goal output under both Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter.

The 24-year-old has continued to start with former Leeds star Cyrsencio Summerville struggling with injury concerns in his first season in East London.

Once the Dutchman has returned to fitness, there is every chance that the ex-Ajax man could be shut out and be eying up a move away.

Former Brentford and Leicester City manager Martin Allen has suggested that the versatile forward could make a switch to Elland Road if promotion is achieved.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Allen said: “Who would sign him?

“All other clubs looking in would worry about his goal return so I would question if any top Premier League teams would take him.

“*Clubs coming up, maybe Leeds would take a chance on him after Summerville went the other way.*“

Leeds could announce promotion with Kudus signing

When the Whites got promoted in 2020, the signing of Raphinha was a statement and the Brazilian went on to be superb in Yorkshire.

The same effect could be had with Kudus who could be available on a cheapened deal in the summer after a poor year in the Premier League.

With just three goals and one assist in 24 appearances, there is good reason why the Irons could look to part ways with the Ghanaian.

This could help Farke cover for the potential departure of Manor Solomon who is set to exit at the end of his current loan spell at Elland Road.

If the LS11 club can push this deal over the line, it would be a perfect start to life back in the top tier once promotion is achieved.
