Red Roundup: International break call ups

We have our final international break of the season as twelve players from the Manchester United squad travel to their respective national teams.

Patrick Dorgu, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund are the three players from Ruben Amorim’s squad called up for Denmark’s Nations League quarter-final clash against Portugal.

These three will meet the likes of Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes in the two-legged contest. The full-back and the Man United skipper have been called up Roberto Martinez for the knockouts.

Ronald Koeman named Matthijs De Ligt for his Netherlands’ squad as they square up against Spain in the Nations League last-eight. Despite sustaining a slight knock against Leicester, De Ligt pushed through to preserve the team’s clean sheet.

Gibraltar have called James Scanlon as they begin their World Cup 2026 journey. The 18-year-old is expected to start against Montenegro and Czech Republic.

Victor Lindelof has made the Sweden squad which will face Luxembourg and Northern Ireland in friendlies.

Currently on loan at Aston Villa, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has been named in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad. They are set to face Albania and Latvia in the World Cup qualifiers. Harry Maguire, a regular in the team under Gareth Southgate, won’t find his way back in the squad as he is still recovering from injury.

Across the ocean, Manuel Ugarte gears up for Uruguay’s World Cup qualifiers against champions Argentina and Bolivia. Alejandro Garnacho missed the cup for the defending world champs.

In the African qualifiers, Andre Onana is set to feature for Cameroon in their matches versus Eswatini and Libya. Meanwhile, Morocco calls Noussair Mazraoui for Niger and Tanzania.
