Report: England international has demanded more than £100k-a-week if Everton are to sign him…

Everton are going to have to act if they are serious about landing one of their summer transfer targets.

The Friedkin Group have not exactly had much of an opportunity to put their stamp on the playing squad just yet.

David Moyes was shocked by PSR’s hold on Everton in the January transfer window after he returned to the club midway through the month.

Everton were able to do one piece of January transfer business by signing midfielder Carlos Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo.

Alcaraz is expected to be signed permanently by Everton this summer, with Abdoulaye Doucoure set to depart the club.

However, there is another midfielder on the club’s radar who has now been offered a huge contract by one of their Premier League rivals.

West Ham have offered Everton target £100k-per-week contract

Ahead of the summer window, Everton will need to be prepared with numerous transfer targets with lots of players set to run out of contract.

England international Angel Gomes is of interest to Everton with his contract at Lille set to expire at the end of the season.

But the Toffees are not alone in their interest. The Guardian are now reporting West Ham have made a contract offer to the midfielder.

It has been suggested the Hammers have put forward an offer of £100k-per-week.

The 24-year-old is set to leave the French outfit at the end of the term, but he has already rejected the offer from the Irons.

With Gomes looking for more than £100k-per-week, it could make him one of Everton’s very top – if not outright highest – earners.

Gomes snubbed a move to the Premier League in January, with the 24-year-old keen to have free reign of his options this summer.

Everton face real Premier League competition for Gomes

If Everton are going to land Gomes over the summer, then they are going to have to be prepared to cough up with his wages.

Out of contract at the end of the season, Gomes is going to be holding all of the cards over his future with a number of clubs said to be interested.

Alongside West Ham, Barcelona were credited in the report, and Tottenham Hotspur also hold an interest in Gomes.

Everton have been tipped as Gomes’ best fit and the prospect of playing at Bramley-Moore Dock could be a real draw.

But the Toffees are going to be up against it in the race for his signature.
