Real Betis are reportedly exploring their options to keep Antony at the club beyond the end of the season and it could benefit Manchester United.

Antony moved to Betis on loan until the end of the season in January after his United career stagnated. Since then, he has become a popular figure at the Estadio Benito and is adored by fans.

The 25-year-old has scored four and assisted four in 11 appearances for Betis, helping them challenge for a spot in the Champions League next season.

His time in Spain has been a complete contrast to the first half of the season in Manchester, where he scored just one goal against League One opponents Barnsley. Fortunately, it gives United a better chance at recouping the £81million they paid Ajax for the winger in 2022.

However, as part of Antony's move to Betis, there was no buy option in his loan deal. According to reports in Spain, the La Liga side are now considering their options in a bid to keep the Brazilian at the club for longer.

Journalist Mateo Gonzalez at ABC de Sevilla has claimed that Betis want to sign Antony on another loan deal for the 2025/26 season with them paying a significantly higher percentage of his wage.

At the moment, Betis and United share Antony's wages with it understood the Spanish side are covering at least 84% of his earnings. It's claimed the forward earns around £200,000-per-week meaning at least £168,000-per-week is supposedly being paid by Betis until June.

The catch has been that Betis have paid no loan fee to bring Betis to the club. Should they qualify for the Champions League, another loan deal with a higher salary paid could be on the cards.
