Man United keen to offload winger this summer

Manchester United face high-flying Nottingham Forest when the Premier League returns at the start of April.

The Red Devils cruised to a 3-0 win against struggling Leicester City in their last outing before the international break, and Ruben Amorim’s side now do not feature until next month as the FA Cup quarter-finals take place next weekend.

Amorim has endured a difficult start to his tenure at Old Trafford, winning just six of his 18 Premier League matches in charge.

United currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, and are therefore likely to miss out on qualification for European football next term unless they can win the Europa League.

This summer could therefore be one of significant change in Manchester, and it appears that United are preparing to offload one of their most expensive ever signings.

According to Football Insider, Man United intend to sell Jadon Sancho this summer.

The winger is currently on loan at rivals Chelsea, who have an obligation to buy the player if they finish higher than 14th in the top flight this season.

Sancho is currently on loan at Chelsea

With the Blues currently occupying fourth spot, it looks likely that the clause will become active, however it has been rumoured that the West London side will pay a penalty fee to avoid having to sign the Englishman.

Sancho, 24, joined United from German side Borussia Dortmund in 2021 but eventually fell out of favour at Old Trafford after a public fall out with then-manager Erik ten Hag.

The winger was then sent back to Dortmund on loan for the latter part of last season, before joining Chelsea last summer.

He has since scored two goals and provided four assists in 23 games for the Blues across all competitions.

Despite all this, the report claims that Chelsea will sign Sancho permanently if they qualify for the Champions League, which will be welcomed by United as the Manchester club are intent on offloading the England international.
