Patriots Reportedly Sign Ex-Mike Vrabel Defender To Deal

The New England Patriots signed another guy who used to play for Mike Vrabel.

Shocker!

Jack Gibbens will sign a one-year deal with New England, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Gibbens’ total salary was not revealed at the time of reporting, though it was noted previously that he’d visited One Patriot Place.

Gibbens, 26, originally signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2022, making his debut as a member of their practice squad before being upgraded to a standard contract. The Titans eventually turned to him as a starter, where he totaled 167 tackles and 1.5 total sacks.

The Patriots already signed two linebackers who used to play for Vrabel — with Harold Landry III and Robert Spillane agreeing to terms as the new league year opened. Gibbens, Landry and Spillane also overlapped with new defensive coordinator Terrell Williams.

Gibbens and Spillane will be joining the likes of Jahlani Tavai and Ja’Whaun Bentley in the linebacker room, while Christian Elliss recently visited the Las Vegas Raiders after being tendered at the right of first refusal.
