Ferran headed off on Spain duty in great spirits [after scoring twice in Barcelona’s win over Atletico Madrid in La Liga](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/3/16/24385662/atletico-madrid-barcelona-la-liga-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions).
However, he was not with his team-mates in training on Wednesday, working out in the gym instead, and De la Fuente has now offered an update
“He had a problem, so we’re not going to risk him tomorrow. We’re counting on him for Sunday; tomorrow, we’re not,” he said.
The Spain manager’s update suggests that Ferran’s injury isn’t serious and he could play in the second leg of the tie.
Barcelona will certainly be hoping that Ferran only has a knock, as he’s enjoying a good season for Hansi Flick’s side and has scored 13 goals so far this season.
