According to Vatican sources, Pope Francis’ double pneumonia and polymicrobial infection, diagnosed a month ago, remain under control, although they have not yet been completely eradicated.
The sources emphasized that the pontiff is currently fever-free, with no increase in white blood cell count, and his blood test results remain within the normal range.
The next official medical statement on the pope’s health is expected to be released next week. Meanwhile, a decision has yet to be made regarding his participation in the Holy Week ceremonies for Catholic Easter, which this year coincides with Orthodox Easter.
