The summer transfer window is inching ever closer and Manchester United are being linked with potential additions under Ruben Amorim.
Ineos and Manchester United simply cannot afford to be fooled by recent performance.
Yes, the 4-1 win over Real Sociedad and 3-0 defeat of Leicester City have brought some positivity and momentum to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim still needs reinforcements this summer though with new signings absolutely needed.
Attacking additions are absolutely paramount this summer as Amorim looks to push forward with his 3-4-2-1 system.

Manchester United want Xavi Simons
Amorim will surely want to recruit players who can operate as the two attacking players behind United’s striker.
Joshua Zirkzee has shown promise in that role whilst Alejandro Garnacho has been a threat on the right side.
More options are needed in that area though and United are interested in signing RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that United have ‘never lost focus’ on Simons want to sign him this summer.
A ‘versatile attacking midfielder’ is thought to be high on United’s wish list, alongside a new striker.
Simons fits the bill as a player who can play as a number 10 or operate in a wider position if needed.
The problem for United is that RB Leipzig are demanding a huge fee of €80million (£67million) in order to sell Simons.
RB Leipzig only signed Simons on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain in January, breaking their transfer record after 18 months on loan.
Strangely though, Simons only signed a deal until the summer of 2027 – meaning he may not be a permanent RB Leipzig player for long.
United may well look to pounce but coming up with that kind of cash – after Ineos announced fresh United redundancies – may be difficult.
🚨🔴 Understand Manchester United are still keen on #Xavi. The club have never lost focus on him. In addition to a striker, they are also looking for a versatile attacking midfielder.

Xavi Simons was ‘unbelievable’ for Ruud van Nistelrooy
Simons fits the bill for United and still has so much potential at 21.
Seven goals and four assists in 18 Bundesliga games this season is a strong record and Simons was superb last season, hitting eight goals and 12 assists in 32 league outings.
Simons’ best form came with PSV Eindhoven though as he spent the 2022-23 season on loan in the Netherlands.
Under the guidance of United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, Simons smashed 20 goals and 11 assists in 46 outings.
Van Nistelrooy praised Simons for a simply ‘unbelievable’ season, suggesting that his statistics were ‘unthinkable’.
Van Nistelrooy felt that Simons showed great maturity throughout his loan spell and was simply desperate to improve.
“Xavi was very mature in his conversation with me, and it worked because he was bothered only about one thing: ‘Where can I improve?’ He was triggered by improving and learning, and that’s where we made the connection,” said Van Nistelrooy.
“He trusted the plan, and the process, and in the end he had an unbelievable year – he was joint top-scorer in the Eredivisie, made his debut for Holland and went to the World Cup.
“What he achieved that season was unthinkable, really, but it was all to his credit,” he added.
Now shining in the Bundesliga, Simons could follow in Van Nistelrooy’s footsteps by signing for United this summer – and mark a huge addition for Amorim, just as Van Nistelrooy did for Sir Alex Ferguson in 2001.
