Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes keeps being linked with Arsenal.
Indeed, the Newcastle United captain has long been touted as a Gunners target, although Guimaraes has always remained committed to the cause.
Guimaraes conducted an emotional post-match interview after Newcastle beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, declaring how he wants to go down in the club’s history.
That sounds very much like a man who wishes to stay at St James’ Park long-term.
Still, Arsenal have been interested in Guimaraes for a while.
Clearly, there is precious little suggestion the Brazilian will leave Newcastle any time soon. Now a trophy-winning captain at the club and on a contract running until 2028, there would appear to be little reason to leave.
In fact, Guimaraes actually appears to actively enjoy scoring against the Gunners.

The two were asked all manner of questions, including which team they enjoyed scoring goals against.
At first, Guimaraes wrote Real Madrid, but had misunderstood the question. That was his answer for a team he would ideally like to score against, rather than actually having done so.
When corrected, the midfielder changed his answer to Arsenal, having scored once against them in seven games during his career.

Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal looks way-off in major Newcastle United boost
Newcastle fans have had to deal with Guimaraes being linked with moves away from the club for what feels like an age now and he’s always sounded happy to stay.
In fact, Newcastle have received assurances Guimaraes won’t push to leave, because he is happy with the current trajectory of the team under manager Eddie Howe.
With that in mind, it’s hard to see him leaving after winning a trophy. Newcastle are looking to build on winning the Carabao Cup and selling one of their major players would hardly help those plans.
