West Ham can offer staggering £5.2 million in annual wages for midfield maestro

Reportedly sailing close to the wind under Premier League financial regulations, the Hammers have no doubt pencilled-in the sale of key players this summer and the end of Danny Ings’ lucrative £125k a week contract to keep them the ‘right’ side of the line when making their bid for free agent Lille’s Angel Gomes.

Yes to all. How the Hammers expected to pick up one of the hottest, most sought-after talents in world football for less than the wages they’ve paid Danny Ings for three years is beyond me. Whilst the Hammers would like to be portrayed as ‘elite level’ players in the club big leagues, the fact that their £100k-a week offer for Angel Gomes was the best that the club can do speaks volumes. And not in a good way.
