Real Madrid backing out of Trent deal
Fans feared that they might have seen the homegrown hero in the team for the FINAL time considering his close links to Real Madrid.
With an expiring contract in 2025, it’s believed that the defender is close to wrapping up a mammoth Bosman deal which would take him to the Bernabeu this summer.
And with Trent out injured, it was speculated that Trent’s recovery time would take him beyond the end of the season.
But the latest reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid are getting COLD FEET over Trent’s potential arrival due to concerns over his recent injury record.
With several defenders out injured this season, including right-back Dani Carvajal as well as Eder Militao, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger, Madrid do not want to take any injury risks around new signings.
That’s according to a report in Todo Fichajes, which claims Madrid are now having second thoughts about Trent.

“Before this injury, Real Madrid had shown significant interest in adding Alexander-Arnold to their ranks for next season,” a report reads.
“The club had submitted a €20 million offer to Liverpool last January, although the English club valued the player between €35 and €40 million.
“The severity of Alexander-Arnold's injury has raised concerns at Real Madrid, which could reconsider its signing strategy.
“The club is looking to strengthen its right-back position, and the English player's medical situation could influence future decisions.
“Madrid has suffered greatly from injuries in recent seasons, and they don't want that to happen again.”

Of course, this could be an encouraging sign for Liverpool. Should Madrid decline to follow up their interest in Trent then he might well be open to signing a renewal.
