The Pittsburgh Steelers swung one of the biggest moves of the offseason when they acquired star wide receiver DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. Everyone knows Metcalf is a very good football player, but a recent highlight reel of him playing basketball has reignited the NFL vs. NBA debate.
Metcalf enjoyed six strong seasons with the Seahawks to begin his NFL career, earning a pair of Pro Bowl selections and a second-team All-Pro honor in 2020. However, he requested a trade after the 2024 campaign, landing with the Steelers in a move that he revealed he is very "excited" about.
"It is just a big blessing just to come to a new home, not discrediting anything from the Seahawks organization because they gave me a chance to become who I am in this league, and I just thank them for that. But I found a new home here, found a new fiancée, and everything's just falling in line, just the way God planned for it to be, and I'm just excited to continue to move forward with it," Metcalf said when discussing his move to Pittsburgh.
At 6-4, 235 pounds, Metcalf is a physically dominant player at the wide receiver position. His skills aren't limited to just the game of football, though, as a clip of his basketball highlights that emerged on social media showed that he may have been able to find his way to the NBA if he wanted to.

Metcalf does a little bit of everything in this clip, as he throws down some powerful dunks, shows off his range by knocking down a tough three-point shot, and hits an acrobatic layup from underneath the basket that is made even more impressive when considering his massive frame.
Immediately after getting traded to the Steelers, Metcalf signed a new five-year, $150 million contract extension with the team. Now, all Pittsburgh needs is a quarterback to throw the ball to Metcalf, as they are waiting on the legendary Aaron Rodgers to make a decision on his future in free agency.
