Liverpool midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch has left the Netherlands training camp this evening due to injury.

The Dutchman was among 17 first-team stars to have joined their national team camp during the March international break.

The 22-year-old, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo, was among the Liverpool players called up by Ronald Koeman for the Netherlands’ upcoming Nations League double-header against Spain.

However, his stay with the Oranje squad has been cut short due to an injury he suffered during Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final last Sunday.

The Dutch national team confirmed the news with a statement on their official X account on Wednesday.

“Ryan Gravenberch has left the Oranje’s training camp this evening,” the statement said.

“The midfielder is still suffering from an injury sustained over the weekend that prevents him from playing in the matches against Spain.”

Liverpool fans and, indeed, Arne Slot will be hoping that the midfielder’s injury is nothing too serious, considering his importance to the team.

The 22-year-old has been one of Liverpool’s most important players this season, playing almost every minute of the Reds’ important games this campaign.

Thankfully, the Reds are not in action until the first week of April when they face Everton in the Merseyside Derby. It will be hoped that the two-weeks break will give him enough time to recover in time to participate in Liverpool’s last nine games of the season.
