It’s been three months since Dan Ashworth was dismissed from Manchester United after a short stint with the club.

In a controversial move, Ashworth was put on garden leave by Newcastle United after his desires and clandestine meetings to join The Red Devils emerged through leaked emails.

In a move to bring the sporting director, United paid £2 million in compensation to The Magpies to get him to Old Trafford sooner, however his time with The Red Devils didn’t last long.

Ashworth’s time under the INEOS at Manchester United only lasted five months, before the club and their inaugural sporting director parted ways.

The final straw came with the sacking of Erik ten Hag and Ashworth’s desire to replace him with Gareth Southgate, whilst Omar Berrada and Sir Dave Brailsford opted to hire Ruben Amorim.

However, the 54-year-old is now set to join forces with Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dan Ashworth approached by Al-Nassr

Gianluigi Longari has reported, via SportItalia.com, that Cristiano Ronaldo’s current club Al-Nassr have approached Dan Ashworth to join the club as their new sporting director.

It’s unsure how Ashworth feels about the offer or moving to Saudi Arabia, especially with recent reports claiming that clubs closer to home are interested in his services.

Recently it’s been reported that West Ham United are interested in bringing Ashworth to the club as their sporting director.

Either way, it’s clear that Ashworth’s short stint at United hasn’t negatively impacted his stock in the world of football, with the 54-year-old not short on offers.
