When the Los Angeles Chargers hired head coach Jim Harbaugh during the 2024 offseason, they were hoping the National Champion could turn around their program like he'd done in so many previous spots.
The former Michigan coach got his first NFL head coaching gig with the San Francisco 49ers and turned the storied franchise back into the proud organization they were known as in the 1980's and 90's.
After his exit in San Francisco, he returned to his alma mater and transformed the Wolverines into a powerhouse.
Harbaugh has been tasked with rebuilding and forming a culture in all his head coaching jobs, but this past offseason, the former Coach of the Year put his time and effort toward rebuilding himself.

During a game last season against the Denver Broncos, Harbaugh suffered some health issues and had to be examined in the blue medical tent. He would later return to the game, but revealed he was suffering from heart arrythmia, something he claimed he'd been dealing with for a while.
Players, coaches, fans, and analysts were all shaken by the ordeal, and many other people may have stepped away to address their health. Instead, Harbaugh put on his brave face and stood on the sidelines for every last one of his team's games.
But now that the season is over, the Chargers' beloved coach is finally focusing on himself.
In a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Los Angeles' coach speaks about a heart procedure and a hip replacement surgery that he got done this offseason. He followed it up with a proclamation about how much more energetic he'll be now that he's back to full strength.

The Chargers improved their win total by five in Harbaugh's first season with the team, and after everything their coach has gone through, the team may be even better next year.
It is well documented just how much of a player's coach Harbaugh is, and there's no doubt that this health scare has only strengthened his team's respect and admiration for him.
