Barcelona sporting director Deco reportedly wanted to sign Desire Doue last summer after missing out on Nico Williams.
The [Catalans were eager to bring in the Athletic star](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/9/12/24242898/nico-williamss-agents-explain-why-athletic-club-star-didnt-leave-for-barcelona) but missed out as he decided to stay with the Basque side.
According to Diario Sport, Deco then switched his focus to Doue and had plenty of good reports from his sources about the forward.
The feeling was that Doue was a really good fit for Barca and could have been a great addition to the squad.
However, once again Barcelona simply didn’t have the resources to make a move and saw Doue move to Paris Saint-Germain instead to work under Luis Enrique.
Doue is now enjoying himself in France, with PSG on course to win another league title and looking good in the Champions League too.
