Aaron Rodgers’ Post-NFL Career Take Embarrassing Turn

Aaron Rodgers is in the midst of yet another eventful off-season. The 41-year-old quarterback was informed that the New York Jets were going in a different direction in 2025. While there have been a few teams rumored to be interested in Rodgers, he has yet to make a decision.

However, whenever he does decide to hang up the cleats for good, it may be difficult to get back into the NFL world.

According to Robin Adams of Wisconsin Sports Heroics:

Many NFL players start a career as an analyst following their playing careers. Seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady, for example, is one of the primary broadcasters for FOX during the NFL season.

Per a report by Front Office Sports:

“Rodgers, who will turn 42 in December, is smart, incisive, and highly quotable. Media outfits typically desire those qualities. So what’s the problem? None of the network executives or talent agents I talked to would go on the record. If asked publicly about Rodgers, they’d likely say they’re happy with their current broadcast teams and have no cast openings. Some might choose the all-purpose ‘If he wants to talk to us, we’d be happy to talk with him.’

“Their main concern, under condition of anonymity, is that Rodgers comes off as a pompous know-it-all who would turn off viewers. His dalliance with COVID-19 conspiracy theories and public feuds with critics like Jimmy Kimmel on The Pat McAfee Show also concern some. With that in mind, the prospect of hiring Rodgers does not thrill executives.

“’Yes, he could be a great analyst. But he’s insufferable,’ said one source. Rodgers ‘needs an image rehab,’ warned another.”

There is no doubt that Rodgers is capable of being entertaining when he wants to be. McAfee’s show became a national succes, and Rodgers appearing on the show weekly played a big role in that. It is not surprising that McAfee is loyal to his team. McAfee & Co. could probably talk football forever with Rodgers if he wanted to.

It is understandable that some media companies do not want to publicly express their interest in Rodgers. It is also possible for conditions to change as commentators and analysts move around.

Currently, Rodgers has little chance of landing a top position in a game studio or analyst role.
