The days are ticking down to the 2025 NFL Draft and for months Shedeur Sanders was considered a consensus top ten lock. But the big board has changed dramatically after teams went wild in free agency.
The team needs that were once put towards draft positioning is no longer and many are starting to speculate on where Sanders could end up landing. FOX Sports analyst Rob Rang projects multiple trades in the first round of his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. However, one of them won't be for Sanders.

Rang has the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback sliding to 21st overall with the Pittsburgh Steelers. "While questions about Sanders' leadership and true arm strength could make him a curious fit for some, I like the pairing with Mike Tomlin and an offense that just landed DK Metcalf," Rang wrote.

"Despite what his critics might suggest, Sanders is this year's most accurate quarterback, and he's proven in a pro-style offense, starring this past season at Colorado under playcaller Pat Shurmur, a three-time NFL head coach. While Sanders is widely considered among this class's top two quarterbacks, Louisville's Tyler Shough is another intriguing pro-ready passer who would fit well for the Steelers."

Sanders would be the second QB off the board, according to Rang. A much different gap compared to last year's draft with six passers taken in the top 12 picks. The son of Deion Sanders finished his 2024 season eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting with 4,134 yards and 41 total touchdowns to ten interceptions.
