**Real Madrid 2 – 0 Arsenal**

-----------------------------

The Gunners will have a mountain of work to do in the second leg, falling 2-0 to Real Madrid on Wednesday (AEDT).

While Arsenal had more possession and more than double the shots of Madrid, their inability to put their chances away cost them. Linda Caicedo and Athenea del Castillo were the goal scorers who gave the home side the advantage.

**Steph Catley** and **Kyra Cooney-Cross** both started for Arsenal, while **Caitlin Foord** was a half-time substitute.

**Bayern Munich 0 – 2 Lyon**

----------------------------

Lyon showed why they remain so dominant in women’s football, defeating Bayern Munich 2-0.

Tabitha Chawinga and Melchie Dumornay were on the scoresheet, but there could have been more for Lyon, who amassed 10 shots on target and even missed a penalty late in the first half. It would be a tremendous turnaround for Bayern to get anything out of this tie in the second leg.

**Ellie Carpenter** started and played the full game at right-back for Lyon.

**Wolfsburg 1 – 4 Barcelona**

-----------------------------

Barcelona made light work of Wolfsburg, defeating them 4-1.

Irene Paredes, Salma Paralluelo and Sydney Schertenleib were the goal scorers as the Spanish giants loom as a semi-final opponent to avoid.

**Manchester City 2 – 0 Chelsea**

---------------------------------

Manchester City enacted revenge on Chelsea for their League Cup defeat, taking a 2-0 advantage into the second leg of the quarter-final.

Vivianne Miedema was a half-time substitute for City and made a significant impact, scoring a second-half brace to lift City to victory. The match marks Chelsea’s first defeat of the 2024/25 season.

**Mary Fowler** started for City before being withdrawn in the second half. **Sam Kerr** remains unavailable for Chelsea, and will likely require her side to overcome the two-goal deficit in the second leg if she is a chance of playing UWCL this season.
