Nottingham Forest players have already dreamt about what it would be like to hear the Champions League anthem ring out at the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are keen not to get ahead of themselves as the business end of the season approaches. But for Morgan Gibbs-White, the prospect of securing European football for Reds fans is an extra source of motivation in the final weeks of the campaign.
Forest are well placed to do just that. They are third in the Premier League table with nine games remaining, six points clear of fifth-placed Manchester City.
"It would be incredible,” Gibbs-White told talkSPORT when asked about the possibility of competing among Europe’s elite. “We've spoken about it in the changing room, imagine hearing the Champions League anthem at the City Ground and how loud it's going to be.
"It's something we want to do as a team, to give back to the fans after so many years of struggle and heartbreak. It's something they deserve more than anyone.
"That's what is driving us more than anything, being able to give back to the fans who have supported us through thick and thin. That's the most important thing.
"To hear the Champions League anthem at the City Ground would be incredible. But we can't look too far ahead. We've still got nine games left and a lot of work to be done to hear that. But we're excited and are just staying humble at the minute.”
Gibbs-White, who is currently on England duty after receiving a late call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s squad, puts the Reds’ success this term down to a sense of unity. Head coach Nuno placed an emphasis on team bonding during pre-season last summer and it has paid off so far.
"It's strange because we felt like we were together before the manager. But then when Nuno came in it was like a whole different flip and change,” Gibbs-White explained.
"He really bought into getting to know everyone individually, understanding the players. I feel like that is what has helped us a lot.
"The squad we have and the togetherness we have off the pitch really helps us on the pitch. This is probably one of the most together changing rooms I've ever been in.
"The morale is always high and the vibe is always high. We take that into games and feel like we can beat anyone. We might not play the nicest football but we work hard for each other.”

The 25-year-old added: "In football, anything can happen. Me and the gaffer have said it before that we have to take it training by training, game by game.
"We keep putting ourselves in better and better situations. We just have to keep believing in what we're doing and stay humble.
“I think that's the key part, staying humble and not getting too ahead of ourselves. We just have to focus on what's next because anyone can beat anyone in the Premier League - it has shown that this year with some of the teams that are up there.
"We've just got to take it game by game. The ambition is to be there, especially with the season we've had but we've just got to stay humble and take it game by game.”
