Hammers heartbreak with Tottenham allegedly in strong position to sign 'incredible' 23-yo for…

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to deal a big blow to West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

West Ham and Tottenham are believed to be in the hunt for the same player ahead of the summer.

Graham Potter and Ange Postecoglou are both desperate to bolster their ranks at the London Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium respectively during the off-season.

There will certainly be a big turnover of players at West Ham in the summer transfer window.

The same can be said for Spurs.

Potter is said to be keen to add more dynamism and youth to his ranks at the London Stadium before the start of next season.

Both clubs need their owners to dig deep. However, it seems like Tottenham have already stolen a march on West Ham in the race to sign one player in particular.

Tottenham ahead of West Ham in Rayan Ait-Nouri race

The two London clubs could be set to go head-to-head in the race for the Wolves left-back this summer.

Rayan Ait-Nouri is firmly on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report from Africa Foot.

However, the bad news is that Spurs lead the race for the 23-year-old’s signature.

That’s because they have already held talks with Wolves about signing the 13-capped Algeria international this summer.

Described as ‘incredible’ by Wolves insider Harry Mansell, when speaking to This Is Anfield, Ait-Nouri can be truly unplayable on his day.

This season, he has three goals and five assists in 28 Premier League games to his name (Transfermarkt).

During those appearances, Ait-Nouri has averaged 2.6 tackles, 1.9 clearances, one key pass and 1.6 dribbles per game (Who Scored).

How much will Rayan Ait-Nouri cost

The Algerian is said to be available for around £40 million this summer (The Athletic).

The 23-year-old would be absolutely perfect for the Hammers. He’d be a huge upgrade on Emerson Palmieri, and would be the ideal player for Ollie Scarles to learn from.

He has pace, power, and technical ability in abundance and has absolutely everything that a modern day left-back needs to succeed at the very highest level of the game.

Unfortunately for West Ham, it seems like Tottenham are in pole position to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer.
