The Detroit Pistons sent Miami Heat fans home in frustration on Wednesday night after former Oklahoma State Cowboys star and 2025 NBA All-Star selection Cade Cunningham drilled a three-pointer to win the game by a score of 116-113 in South Florida.
The win was the Detroit Pistons' fourth in sixth games as Cunningham stuffed the stat sheet with a triple-double stat line of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
Afterward, a former NBA champion who used to be a major problem for the Pistons decided to give Cunningham his flowers as one of the NBA's top five performers so far on the 2024-2025 season.
Perkins appeared to upgrade Cunningham's status among current NBA greats as he became excited over his recent shot.
"Mr. 1st Team All NBA Cade Cunningham with the Game Winner!!!!" former Celtics center Kendrick Perkins wrote on X.
Cunningham appeared to put a little bit too much English on the shot as it left his hand, but the ball "nestled" onto the rim and fell into the basket, as described by one courtside announcer.

Cunningham's team is now 39-31 on the season. Obtaining First Team All-NBA selection seems like a daunting task for Cunningham, who will have to beat out top players including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic or others who made last year's first team, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and former NBA champion Jayson Tatum.
