Vaclav Cerny has spent this season on loan at Rangers as he joined from German side Wolfsburg in the summer.
In a recent interview, the Czech Republic international revealed that he would be open to moving to Ibrox permanently.
However, he admits that there are aspects that he cannot influence with regard to his future this summer.

San Francisco 49ers could sign Vaclav Cerny permanently post the Rangers takeover
It’s understood that the San Francisco 49ers are going to invest heavily in the first-team squad this summer.
TEAMtalk sources reported on 19 March that post the takeover, the club could make Cerny’s loan deal permanent.
MORE RANGERS STORIES
Cerny has proven himself a vital asset for the Ibrox outfit, making his permanent signing among the priorities for the San Francisco 49ers following their anticipated takeover.
Competition (2024/25) Appearances Goals Assists
Scottish Premiership 27 11 2
Europa League 10 6 2
Cerny’s record in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League this season.
The Czech winger’s pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability have injected dynamism into Rangers’ attack, offering a spark that complements their ambitions to challenge Celtic and compete in Europe.
With the 49ers poised to inject significant funds into the squad this summer, securing the 27-year-old’s services aligns with their vision of building a competitive first team.

£7million may be enough to sign Vaclav Cerny permanently
His familiarity with the club and fanbase reduces adaptation risks, making him a low-risk, high-reward investment.
The next steps are likely to include initiating talks with Wolfsburg, leveraging the 49ers’ financial clout to negotiate a favourable fee, potentially around £5-7million given his contract situation.
Concurrently, Rangers’ revamped backroom, under the 49ers’ data-driven leadership, should expedite the process, ensuring swift scouting of alternatives if needed, while finalising personal terms with Cerny to cement his long-term future at Ibrox.
All this, however, cannot happen until the takeover is rubber-stamped or if the 49ers can start work at Ibrox and begin planning for the summer transfer window.
It is important that the process begins now rather than weeks later as it gives other clubs the time to discuss terms with Cerny.
