Kalvin Phillips has been heavily linked with a return to Leeds United in the summer if they get promoted to the Premier League. The Whites fans are divided over the possibility of the midfielder returning to Elland Road as many feel he is not the same player anymore. However, the supporters have been told that the players would love to have him back at the club.
Phillips is currently on loan at Ipswich Town and he still has three years left on his contract at Manchester City. But he is expected to move on from the Etihad in the summer.

Manchester City want to sell him as he has no future at the club and Leeds are believed to be interested in getting their hands on their former academy product in the next transfer window.
Leeds would still need to get promoted, and Phillips would have to take a pay cut to make the transfer possible, but rumours about his return have persisted.
Ex-Championship star insists Kalvin Phillips returning to Leeds would be a good thing
Former Championship star Joe Jacobson has claimed that the midfielder returning to Leeds would be a fantastic move for both the player and the club.
Leeds fans are unsure about the transfer given his performances since he left the club in 2022 but the ex-Championship star insisted that the midfielder remains a top player.
He stressed that Phillips is the same person who played for England in the European Championship final and he is certain the Leeds players would love to have him back at Elland Road.
“I still think Kalvin Phillips is a top-quality footballer”, Jacobson told the Football League World.
“He’s proved that at Leeds before, at Man City and for England. Don’t forget this was a guy that was starting in England’s midfield, getting to the final of the Euros not so long ago.
“He’s a very good player, he obviously hasn’t played enough football in the last few years to warrant his place back in the England squad but he’s started to play a little bit more now for Ipswich.
“If you ask any Leeds player if they would take Phillips in the summer, they would all snap your hand off. I don’t think you can disregard him.”
Financially the deal has to make sense for Leeds
Phillips wants to return to Leeds and it makes sense for him to want to get back to the club where he succeeded initially in order to rekindle his career.
If Leeds get promoted to the Premier League, they are expected to try and sign the midfielder from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
However, the deal needs to make financial sense as Leeds would not want to commit massive finances to sign a player who turns 30 in the middle of next season.

Leeds are in no position to meet his wage demands and the midfielder would have to agree to take a significant pay cut to ensure a deal happens.
Manchester City also need to be reasonable with their demands and Leeds would not agree to pay more than £20m for Phillips in the summer.
