Could David Sullivan be about to overrule Graham Potter with £25 million player transfer?

West Ham United head coach Graham Potter could find out the hard way how David Sullivan works this summer.

David Sullivan brought Graham Potter to the London Stadium in the summer, and the West Ham co-owner is said to have been impressed by the former Chelsea boss already.

Graham Potter will add more dynamism and youth to his West Ham ranks this summer.

However, he will have to get rid of some of the deadwood as well.

The Hammers desperately need to raise significant funds in the summer.

And it seems like Sullivan could overrule Potter regarding the transfer of one player in particular.

West Ham could sell Luis Guilherme this summer

Luis Guilherme could well be finished at the London Stadium it seems.

It was actually claimed back in January that West Ham were open to selling Luis Guilherme for around £20 million.

The 19-year-old remained with the Hammers in the end, but the end could be nigh for him in East London.

According to a report from Claret and Hugh, West Ham are expecting numerous offers for Guilherme this summer, and could sell him.

Luis Guilherme joined the Hammers in the summer of 2024 from Palmeiras for a £25 million fee, but we just haven’t seen that much of him to pass judgement one way or the other.

We won’t know how good the young Brazilian actually is until he starts playing regularly, so giving up on him so soon could end up being a big error.

Could David Sullivan overrule Graham Potter with Luis Guilherme

Now, it was recently claimed that Potter vetoed a move to sell Guilherme late on in the January transfer window.

That was a bold call from the Hammers head coach, and he’s playing a dangerous game with the Brazilian by barely giving him any minutes since then.

However, the 49-year-old has clearly seen something in the former Palmeiras winger that he likes.

If West Ham were to sell Luis Guilherme this summer, it would be a clear indication that David Sullivan has trumped Graham Potter.

And that obviously doesn’t bode well for the future.
