Tottenham have a concern amid interest in one of their star players ahead of next season.
Tottenham will be concerned about talk of a key departure ahead of the summer. It has already been a season to forget for Spurs, who find themselves stranded in the bottom half heading into the final stages of the season.
Ange Postecoglou has been hit with injury after injury this season, and he has failed to find answers, leaving his position as the club’s manager in serious doubt, likely having to put together a very good run in the Europa League to boost his chances of staying.

Many Spurs fans will be looking ahead to next season already, at least in terms of the Premier League, with new signings required this summer. But there is also growing concern over the club’s best players being snatched away. Ambitious players may be tempted away by clubs who are closer to winning major titles, and star defender Cristian Romero may well fall into that category.
Romero is being linked with Real Madrid, and according to Fichajes, Romero is ‘willing to take the step’ to join Real Madrid. Tottenham have him under contract until 2027 but they may struggle to keep his head from turning if a club like Real Madrid expresses an interest, given they are more likely than not to miss out on European football for next season.
Real Madrid will be on the lookout for a centre-back this summer with David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger only under contract for another year, while Eder Militao has struggled with injury issues.
Romero is said to be one of their options, although they are likely to have a handful at this stage. Tottenham will be concerned, but it’s not exactly a surprise that Romero is willing to join perhaps the biggest and most successful club in the world, with few willing to pass on that opportunity.
