Bright Side Baller: Phoenix Suns won’t let us check out just yet after win over Bulls

Another win. That’s two in a row for the Phoenix Suns. Two. Consecutive. Wins. We haven’t seen that since late January, and I guess it’s better late than never, right? And with this latest victory, guess what? The Suns have roped us right back into the Play In conversation. Yep. They’ve got us hooked again, just when we were all ready to check out.

It’s like we were on vacation, bags packed, passports ready, heart already set on heading home. One last check of the hotel room, making sure we didn’t leave our charger behind, and we head to the lobby. Responsible, of course. We’re giving the keys back to the front desk. We’re ready to go, mind made up.

But then, we pass the concierge’s desk. And what do they do? They offer us one last drink coupon. Free drink. Alcoholic of our choice. It’s a plane ride home, after all, so why not start the party early? What do we do? We roll our luggage over to the musty pool bar, sit down, order a Jameson and water, and let the hours slip by as we sip by.

We start talking to the people around us. Some are a really good time. We avoid the table in the back where a gaggle of KD stans is slobbering over 2016 Warriors highlights (no thanks). But the conversation keeps flowing. The vibes are there. The party isn’t over. Suddenly, we don’t want to leave. We don’t want the vacation to end, because we don’t know what kind of fun might still lie ahead. And just like that, we’re not ready to check out yet.

We’re staying, and it seems the Suns aren’t ready to check out either.

This win against the Bulls was no fluke. The energy, the disruption, the connectivity. Hell, they even looked like they were having fun out there. And when they’re having fun? We’re having fun.

The Suns are…having…fun? They’re having fun!!!!

They’re finally starting to look like the team we envisioned all season long. So no, we’re not done yet. We’re still here. We still care. The Suns haven’t let us check out, and we’re riding this wave as long as it’ll take us.

Bright Side Baller Season Standings

‘Twas another fierce fight for the Bright Side Baller after the Suns cruised to victory over the Raptors. But Booker took it home, narrowly surpassing Oso.

It has been quite some time since Booker won a BSB. He’s been stuck on unlucky 13 for weeks now. But this win over the rookie moves him up to 14 on the year.
