Liverpool FC Legends will face Chelsea FC Legends in a highly anticipated charity match at Anfield this Saturday, March 22, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm GMT.
The fixture commemorates the 20th anniversary of Liverpool’s extraordinary 2004-05 season, which featured their memorable Champions League semi-final victory over Chelsea en route to Istanbul glory.
The LFC Foundation’s Legends charity matches have become a cherished tradition at Anfield, raising over £7.5 million through eight successful events.
These matches have helped the Foundation support over 127,000 people last season alone, with previous events generating significant community impact through health benefits and local economic contributions
The most recent Legends match saw Liverpool face Ajax at Anfield in March 2024, drawing over 54,000 spectators.
This year, Steven Gerrard headlines an impressive Liverpool squad featuring Champions League heroes Jerzy Dudek, Djimi Traore, and Sami Hyypia. Other confirmed Reds include Martin Skrtel, Dirk Kuyt, and Djibril Cisse
Making history, Natasha Dowie will become the first woman to participate in the annual Legends game.
Sir Kenny Dalglish will lead Liverpool out on the day.
Chelsea’s legends, managed by Roberto Di Matteo, include John Mikel Obi, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Gary Cahill, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
One hundred percent of proceeds will support the LFC Foundation’s health programs, Chelsea FC Foundation, and Chelsea Players’ Trust.
