Spanish LaLiga club Deportivo Alavés is introducing a season ticket transfer scheme in a bid to fill the stadium as they fight relegation.
Alavés is giving season ticket holders who cannot attend the forthcoming home match against Real Madrid the option of temporarily transferring their seat to another fan.
If another supporter takes up their ticket, the original owner will receive 50 per cent of the ticket value in return. This will be in the form of a discount for a 2025-26 season ticket.
The aim of the scheme is to increase attendance at the club’s home matches at the 19,840-capacity Medizorrotza.
The Basque side is currently averaging an attendance of 16,682 as it sits in 17th place in LaLiga, battling against relegation from Spain’s top division. The team faces Real Madrid in what is an important game for their hopes of staying up on April 13.
“With this measure, Deportivo Alavés seeks to increase attendance among Albiazul fans at the stadium and ensure the best possible atmosphere for a key match of the season,” read a club statement.
All individual Deportivo Alavés season ticket holders with an assigned seat will be able to access the transfer service, provided they are up to date with their payments and their season ticket does not belong to the Arabako Garrasia stand or is not a company season ticket.
