The Spurs big man was a solo highlight reel

On a night when Karl-Anthony Towns scored 32 points with 9 rebounds and 2 assists, he was overshadowed by Sandro Mamukelashvili who knocked down 34 points with 9 rebounds and 3 assists.

Sandro scored 23 of his 34 in the fourth quarter, thwarting the Knicks chances at a comeback.

He went 7 of 7 from beyond the arc and 13 of 14 overall in nineteen minutes of play.

In fact, Mamu now holds the record for most poiints in 20 minutes. His 34 bested Jaylen Brown’s 33. But Mamu did it coming off the bench.

And he managed to do it without playing in the first or third quarters. He was responsible for padding the Spurs lead before halftime and solidifying the win against New York.

After the game, Chris Paul (who dished Mamu the passes on his last two shots) secured the game ball for Sandro. The team mobbed him. Dan Weiss had a quick chat with him until Flavor Flav came over and celebrated with the man of the hour.

Flav had posed with Mamu prior to the game, watched from the front row, and made his way to honor his friend.

As Mamu said in the postgame, he was blessed to have his family in the Frost Bank Center to witness his career night.

Go on with your bad self Mamu!
