West Ham And 2 PL Rivals Have Made‘First Contact’To Sign 20 Goal Italian Who Has£43.5M Release Clause

West Ham are one of three Premier League clubs who have made recent enquiries about Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, according to reports in Italy.

TMW claim that the Hammers have made “first contact”, along with Arsenal and Newcastle, as they weigh up a potential move for the 25-year-old at the end of the season.

Kean has been in excellent form this campaign, having found the back of the net 20 times in all competitions.

The forward has matured a great deal since an ill-fated spell with Everton several years ago and TMW report that English clubs are particularly interested in bringing him back to the Premier League after hearing about his release clause.

How much will Kean cost to sign?

Back in November, Fiorentina’s general manager Alessandro Ferrari revealed the existence of a buyout fee, saying that the player’s representatives wanted it included in his contract:

“It’s not a condition we liked even though it was requested by the other side, but we tried to conclude it in the best possible way. It’s a clause of 52 million [euros] that is not only valid abroad. It was made because he wanted this guarantee and we wanted him at all costs.”

€52m is approximately £43.5m which seems a reasonable sum for a player who has found the back of the net on a regular basis this season.

West Ham have been targeting several forwards

Kean is among a very long list of No.9s that the Irons have been linked with over the past few months. Lille’s Jonathan David is said to be one of the preferred candidates considering he is available on a free transfer.

However, the likes of Roma’s Tammy Abraham, Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, and Mainz’s Jonathan Burkardt have also been mentioned as targets.
