Report: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is already planning for life after football, he could follow in the footsteps of Chelsea…

It looks like Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall already knows what he wants to do after he retires from football.

Still just 26 years of age, Dewsbury-Hall still has plenty of time left in the game. A player’s career is short, though, so he many want to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Englishman has not got too many opportunities under Enzo Maresca this season, making just one start in the Premier League.

When he has played, however, former Chelsea winger Joe Cole has been impressed with Dewsbury-Hall.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall wants to become a sporting director

Last season, Dewsbury-Hall showed that he can make an impact on the pitch, and it appears that he also wants to make an impact off it once he retires.

According to talkSPORT, the Chelsea star has been studying to become a sporting director, taking up a post-graduate diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship with the PFA Business School.

Chelsea currently have two sporting directors, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, who are not the most popular figures among the fanbase right now.

Their recruitment has been questioned by Chelsea supporters, while many have been left unhappy after their failure to sign a new striker in January.

Chelsea actually considered hiring Paul Mitchell before appointing Winstanley and Stewart. Mitchell has an outstanding track record when it comes to transfers, bringing the likes of Son Heung-min and Sadio Mane to Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton respectively.

Former Chelsea star Deco now sporting director at Barcelona

Several ex-Chelsea players have gone down the manager route, including Frank Lampard and Cesc Fabregas.

Lampard has been excelling in the dugout at Coventry City and has them in contention to win promotion to the Premier League.

However, one of his former teammates, Deco, went down the agent and then sporting director path.

He is currently Barcelona’s sporting director after spending time there and at Chelsea as a player. When it is time for Dewsbury-Hall to hang up his boots, everything is pointing towards the ex-Leicester star choosing the same career as the 2010 Premier League title winner.
