West Ham may be looking towards the summer transfer window with a large focus on refreshing the first team, but there is plenty of work to be done lower down the chain as well.
Graham Potter is a man known for his ability to work wonders with younger players and bring them up to first-team level, making them an asset for teams.
Since his arrival at the London Stadium, he has made Ollie Scarles a regular member of his squad and this is surely exciting for other young players in East London.

West Ham announce goalkeeper contract
As the Hammers look towards the end of the season and the expiration of contracts, the club have announced via X [20 March] that Mason Terry has extended his contract until 2027.
The goalkeeper has been in the Hammers’ academy since eight years old, working his way up the age groups before being rewarded a first professional contract in 2023.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
The 20-year-old has spent the season on loan with National League South side Hornchurch, where he has kept 10 clean sheets so far this season.
There is plenty of work to go if Terry is going to get himself up to the levels required to compete at the top levels, but getting game time under his belt regularly is crucial and his parent club clearly see talent in him.
The key now is to allow the goalkeeper to continue practicing his trade week in, week out while also honing in his talent and translating it to top-end ability.
We are delighted to announce that Academy goalkeeper Mason Terry has extended his contract with the Club until the summer of 2027 đź“ť
Congratulations, Mason! 🧤

Potter needs a refreshed West Ham
Since Potter’s arrival at West Ham, the boss has not quite had the desired impact but his side have moved themselves way out of the way of relegation which was the main goal.
Team Position Played Goal Difference Points
West Ham 16 29 -16 34
Wolves 17 29 -18 26
Ipswich 18 29 -34 17
West Ham are clear of relegation trouble.
As the West Ham players prepare to return from the international break, Potter will be hoping his side are ready to give the end of the season a good go before getting ready for a much better campaign over the summer.
The boss will have more money to spend in the summer transfer window and we will no doubt see a number of new names that are brought in to reflect Potter’s stamp on the team.
However, Potter has also shown an interest in the youth set-up and the younger talent in the squad, and there will no doubt be plenty of attention in this side of things too.
For someone like Terry, he will need to keep on working hard and proving to Potter that he has what it takes to get to where he wants to be.
