Chelsea to rip up Man Utd agreement for Jadon Sancho?
According to reports, Chelsea are able to pay Manchester United a huge buy-out penalty fee to avoid signing Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window. This season, he has featured 29 times for the Blues. But he has failed to impress after a bright start since coming in.
He assisted three goals in his first three Premier League matches. Although, the winger has only assisted one more in the league since then.
He remains a mainstay for head coach Enzo Maresca in the Blues’ 21-player squad. The i Paper state that Chelsea are still looking forward to accept their duty to buy Sancho (£25m) in the summer 2024 transfer window. That will happen if they guarantee a finish above 14th place of the Premier League table. They are currently 15 points clear of with nine matches still remaining.
The I Paper also claims that there is of course an option for the Blues. They could walk away from the obligation to honor their original agreement. As there’s a clause in the transfer deal to Manchester United. However, at a reported significant penalty fee to pay.
