“It Is A Matter Of Time”: Keeper David Raya Makes Bold Arsenal Prediction About Real Madrid

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has said that “it is a matter of time” before the Gunners win a major trophy.

Mikel Arteta‘s side look to have missed out on the Premier League title this season as they went into the international break 12 points behind Liverpool after a 1-0 win against Chelsea last weekend.

It would be the third season in a row where they finished second in the league after losing out to Manchester City in the past two seasons.

However, they do still have a shot at silverware this season, as they remain in the Champions League, and face a tough quarter-final against Real Madrid.

However, Arsenal keeper David Raya says that they “really want” to play against Madrid, and believes that the club are going in the right direction.

He told Sky Sports: “This is a great club and the team is incredible. We are going in the right direction to achieve things, it is a matter of time.

“Everybody wants to win the Champions League and everyone knows how hard it is. We are going in the right direction. We have that experience now and not many players had played in the Champions League before. We look forward to it and accept the challenge.

“We have a big challenge ahead playing Real Madrid. It is the one you really wanted to play when you were young.”

Could Arsenal beat Real Madrid?

There is no doubt that the Gunners received one of the most difficult draws that they could have done in the Champions League this year.

They will play two legs against the defending champions who have the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr at their disposal.

However, Arsenal will likely have their star attacker Bukayo Saka back before the game, and they are narrow favourites according to Opta’s latest Supercomputer simulation.

It gives the Gunners a 52.8% chance of reaching the Champions League semi-finals, whereas it gives Madrid just a 47.2% chance.

It says that Arsenal are the third favourites to win the competition, handing Mikel Arteta’s side a 16.8% chance of lifting the trophy.
