Kevin Durant Makes Devin Booker Statement After Suns-Bulls

The Phoenix Suns were catapulted by Devin Booker's outstanding performance to a tight 127-121 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. The Suns guard reminded everyone just how talented of an offensive player he is. That is a sentiment not lost on his running mate, Kevin Durant.

Booker exploded for a game-high 41 points, shooting an efficient 14-of-26 from the field and 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. The big-time performance helped the Suns secure back-to-back wins for the first time since January.

Durant sounded like a guy who was very used to seeing Booker perform the way he did at the postgame media availability period. When Duane Rankin asked the Suns superstar about the offensive display he just witnessed, it felt like another day at the office for Durant.

"He's getting wherever he wants to get, and the coach put him in great positions to be successful all game. He took advantage of it. Like I said, I don't get surprised by big nights from him. I almost expect it every night."

Booker has certainly built up hefty expectations for himself in the mind of the 15-time All-Star. However, for all the troubles that Phoenix has experienced in the 2024-25 NBA season, the former Kentucky guard has not been among them.

Booker has averaged a healthy 25.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game this season. That also comes with great shooting splits of 46-35-90.

The two-man show of Durant and Booker has never been the issue in Phoenix. For the meantime, the Suns can take a moment and enjoy a win that has to feel pretty good, especially considering that it temporarily has bumped the Suns back into a Play-In spot.
