Jack Harrison would not be welcomed back to Leeds United by many fans as he continues his loan spell at Everton this season.
However, his future is yet to be decided at Elland Road, and it could well hinge on the league Leeds find themselves in next season.
Although their form has dipped of late, Leeds still look on track to achieve promotion to the Premier League, sitting at the top of the table, level on points with Sheffield United.

Harrison breaks silence on Leeds future
After Leeds’ relegation to the Championship, Harrison was granted a loan return to the Premier League, and he has spent the last two seasons with Everton.
Although it has been a difficult season for the Toffees, since David Moyes’ return, they look like a new side and have pulled themselves well clear of the relegation zone.
MORE LEEDS STORIES
In West Yorkshire, things have been going just as well, though, and Daniel Farke’s men are leading the race for a return to the top-flight.
A player with top-flight experience like Harrison could be useful and would not cost Leeds, unlike bringing in a new face across the summer.
Speaking via the Liverpool Echo, Harrison shared an update on his future: “I always have confidence in my ability, so it’s just being able to show it and being able to put it on the pitch.
“When it comes to belief in myself, I know I can achieve a lot more. I have a lot of ambitions, even now. Some people might say, you’re maybe getting on a bit in your career, or something, but I still have a goal, I’ve always had, that is to get into the England squad and be part of a top team in the Premier League, and hopefully I can do that with Everton.
“I think with new ownership, new manager, and going to an amazing new stadium next season, this is somewhere I want to be. It would be exciting to be part of a bigger picture and help a club get from where we have been for the past couple of years to fighting for European football again, and then even more in the way of silverware.
“With the size of Everton and this fan base, with how passionate they are, there’s no reason why the club can’t achieve that, and who wouldn’t want to be part of it?”

Harrison and Leeds may part ways
There is certainly an attraction to keep Harrison at Elland Road in the summer transfer window, as he has proven himself in the top-flight before, and Farke will want that experience on his side if they go up.
However, with comments as blunt as these, it doesn’t seem as though Harrison himself has his heart set on a return to West Yorkshire.
That being said, the winger hasn’t seen a particular increase in form even with the introduction of Moyes as manager, and therefore, whether Everton would want to retain him is to be pondered.

With Dan James, Manor Solomon, Largie Ramazani and Willy Gnonto available at Elland Road, though, it’s hard to imagine Harrison even getting any game time back in LS11.
However, Farke will need a committed side that is ready to perform to their highest standards to keep Leeds in the Premier League and moving forward.
For now, though, those at Elland Road will need to keep their focus on gaining automatic promotion with some crucial games ahead.
