Report: Everton eye summer move for £25m star who used to be a bricklayer

Everton are already making plans for the summer transfer window.

The Friedkin Group are preparing to back David Moyes with a substantial budget as PSR issues are set to clear.

The American investors want to return Everton to their past glories and are making a number of hires to their recruitment team.

Angus Kinnear wants to bring two Leeds chiefs to Goodison Park, although, Moyes has other ideas as he eyes two of his former West Ham United colleagues.

Whilst that process unfolds, Everton’s current recruitment staff are drawing up a list of targets and one report from the continent suggests they could move for a £25m Juventus star.

Everton eye summer move for Federico Gatti

According to TuttoJuve, Everton are eyeing a summer move for Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti.

Premier League rivals Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on Gatti, having shown interest in him last year.

The Italy international has postponed contract tasks until the end of the season, so clearly, he’s keeping his options open.

Juve placed a £25m price tag on Gatti last summer and may have to sanction his sale if the two parties can’t reach an agreement on a renewal.

Gatti used to be a bricklayer

Gatti’s rise has been truly remarkable.

The 26-year-old was playing in the sixth tier of Italian football whilst working as a bricklayer only a few years ago.

Gatti was a late bloomer but once he worked his way up to Serie B, that’s when his talent was spotted by Juve.

Since then, he’s established himself as one of the best defenders in Italy and is now set to have multiple Premier League clubs chasing his signature.
